Engineering Service Projects

OMI serves as a “virtual R&D” resource for local manufacturers seeking advanced technology solutions to current and future manufacturing problems.  In doing so, OMI teams industry needs with university resources including faculty expertise, use of labs and equipment, as well as testing services.  Projects such as these are quickly executed through the use of standard and simple Engineering Service Contracts.  Sample contract terms can be found here:  Engineering Services Contract_Blank.

Co-Located Internships

OMI offers access to student solutions through a unique co-located internship opportunity in which OSU engineering students work for a company on a specific project while maintaining full access to university resources (faculty mentor, labs, equipment, and technical resources) in order to enhance the project outcome.  In addition, our co-located interns have a faculty mentor to guide them through the project and offer additional technical expertise.

Technical Training

OMI has teamed up with The Ohio State University College of Engineering to offer a series of technical short courses related to manufacturing.  Course topics include fuel cell systems, welding applications, corrosion, non-destructive evaluation, and many more.  For a full listing of OSU Engineering Distance Education course offerings, check out the link:  http://elearn.eng.ohio-state.edu/

COMING SOON: OMI will be offering a NEW CATIA v6 Short Course in summer 2012 taught by OSU engineering faculty and resulting in a certification of completion from The Ohio State University.  Detailed course information and registration information will be available shortly.  For more information, contact Kristina Kennedy (kennedy.443@osu.edu).

If you would like to learn more about any of these programs, please contact Kristina Kennedy (kennedy.443@osu.edu).
