Ohio Manufacturers' Workforce Summit

The Ohio Manufacturers’ Workforce Summit will be held on November 1, 10 am – 3:30 pm at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The event is open to manufacturers, workforce intermediaries, workforce board members and staff, public and elected officials and staff, education, and economic developmentleaders.

A best practice that has emerged nationally as a successful strategy to address workforce shortages is the "industry sector partnership" model. These partnerships are manufacturing-led, and demand-side driven. We are creating these regional partnerships leading up to the November 1 statewide summit.   

Among the topics that will be covered:

• How and why industry sector partnerships are effective in solving manufacturers’ workforce issues
• How Ohio manufacturers might adapt the industry sector partnership model to address local workforce issues
• Understand what other efforts and initiatives are underway in the region and state that are addressing manufacturers’ workforce issues and how those might align
