NPR’s Marketplace: Ned Hill identifies status on robots during COVID-19

The manufacturing sector lost 1.3 million jobs in April.

But a light at the end of the tunnel may be appearing this month, as U.S. businesses closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic begin to tentatively reopen.

So, what might we expect as manufacturers attempt to rebound while considering new production challenges, such as re-establishing safe work environments?

Ned Hill, a faculty member within the Ohio Manufacturing Institute at The Ohio State University, shared his thoughts on the future of manufacturing with NPR reporter Mitchell Hartman.
